NDIS: Cracking down on fraud in the scheme

Minister for the NDIS, Bill Shorten, has announced a new Crack Down on Fraud program aimed at making the NDIS stronger and to better protect participant funding. The program includes ICT improvements that will help detect and prevent fraud and non-compliant activity, ensuring legitimate participants continue to have the supports and services they need.

To ensure all participants can understand the upcoming changes, accessible communication materials are being developed in AUSLAN, Braille and Easy Read.

If you suspect someone is doing the wrong thing with NDIS funds, you should report it by:

• filling out the NDIS online tip-off form. If you need help completing the online tip-off form you can call the NDIS Fraud Reporting and Scams Helpline on 1800 650 717.

• emailing [email protected]

All reports made are confidential and taken seriously. You can learn more about reporting suspicious behaviour by visiting the NDIS website.
