Do you speak a language other than English? Have you ever considered a career in interpreting? 2M Language Services is now recruiting applicants for the Interpreter Employment Success Program (IESP).

The IESP is a state funded program, delivered at no cost to bilingual speakers, offering opportunities to establish their interpreting skillset, creating pathways to interpreting careers.

What is the IESP?

As a bilingual speaker, the IESP offers a range of opportunities to advance your pathway to becoming an interpreter:

  • Leverage your language skills to discover diverse opportunities
  • Develop new skills under the guidance of industry experts
  • Gain professional workplace experience
  • Connect with a community of interpreters and industry professionals
  • Make a real impact in the lives of CALD communities and be part of international events, including the 2032 Brisbane Olympics

Program Features

  • 10 self-paced course modules with quizzes at the end of each module
  • 10 tutorials to support learning and module preparation
  • 10 industry induction webinars
  • 2 onsite information sessions
  • 4 onsite workshops on sensitive topics (e.g., voluntary assisted dying, domestic violence, self-care)
  • Regular networking sessions
  • Workplace shadowing and simulation
  • The program is free of charge for bilingual speakers

Who Can Join?

To be eligible for the IESP, applicants must:

  • Reside in Queensland
  • Speak fluent English and another language
  • Applicants must be an Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or hold a visa that offers a pathway to permanent residency (i.e. temporary, student, and holiday visas ineligible).
