Webinar: Reporting on children’s rights in Queensland
The Queensland Family and Child Commission’s (QFCC) inaugural Queensland Child Rights Report will be released via the QFCC’s website on 21 August 2023.
The Child Rights Report utilises data and information gathered from government and non-government agencies, as well as the insights of children and young people, to assess Queensland’s progress in upholding child rights. It will also identify areas where child rights are compromised. While the report benefits all children, it holds significant value for those who experience inequity, injustice and marginalisation.
To support the report’s launch, the QFCC will be holding a webinar on Thursday, 24 August from 1:00pm to 2:00pm bringing together child rights leaders to discuss what a child rights approach is, the significance of state-based reporting, Queensland’s achievements and areas of concern, and next steps.
The event will be joined by:
- Professor John Tobin, University of Melbourne
- Mr James McDougall, Australian Child Rights Taskforce
- Dr Bianca Kelly, Queensland Family and Child Commission
- Commissioner Natalie Lewis, Queensland Family and Child Commission
