Results: Annual Survey of the Neighbourhood and Community Centre
During 2020, the Queensland Families and Communities Association (QFCA) launched its first Annual Survey of the Neighbourhood and Community Centre sector in Queensland. These survey findings have now been finalised and the results are in.
In its first annual survey, the QFCA set out to survey the Neighbourhood and Community Centre sector in Queensland for the first time – and the results are in.
According to the report, neighbourhood centres around the state are hosting an estimated 1.83 million visitors per year, producing over $77.8 million in social connections. Centres also produce over $23 million in volunteering and distribute 252 tonnes of food every year to vulnerable Queenslanders.
In addition, for every $1 invested by the Queensland Government, the sector itself produces more than $4 billion in social value.
