Resource: Emerging Minds Community Trauma Toolkit

Flooding events continue to impact communities across New South Wales and Queensland and at the centre of all the adversity has been children and their families. This suite of free, evidence-based resources is designed specifically for adults and services to support the social and emotional wellbeing and mental health of infants and children through the different stages of a disaster or traumatic event.

The Emerging Minds Community Trauma Toolkit is grouped by these key audiences: health and social service practitioners, GP’s, first responders, community leaders, parents/carers, and educators. The resources and training materials have been developed by the following timeframes: preparedness, immediate, short-term, long-term and ongoing recovery.

A fact sheet summarising the toolkit is available here. Access the full suite of resources at Emerging Minds.

Emerging Minds also produces a range of tools and resources to support practitioners in the health, social and community sectors in their work with children, parents and families. These are freely available at the Emerging Minds website.
