Report: Queensland Acute Mental Health System

The provision of targeted, timely and high-quality mental health services to all who need them is a hallmark of a society that values its citizens.

In Queensland, there is much to do to improve the mental health services that we offer; whether that be services for people in acute situations, better early intervention, improvements to community-based support, or measures to prevent the deterioration in people’s mental health.

Over the past 12 months, the Public Advocate, in collaboration with consultant psychiatrist Dr Neeraj Gill, has researched and prepared a report that identifies potential improvements to the acute mental health system.

The report makes 21 carefully considered and feasible recommendations. Read the report.
