Pfizer COVID-19 Vaccination Hubs for people with a disability, family carers & support workers
As part of the Commonwealth Government vaccine rollout, Endeavour Foundation is partnering with Health Care Australia to offer COVID-19 Pfizer vaccinations specifically for people with a disability, family carers and support workers.
These vaccination hubs are designed to create an accessible environment for people who might not attend a large public vaccination clinic, waiting for extended periods in an unpredictable environment.
The hubs offer the Pfizer vaccine and will be available until the end of September to eligible people aged 16 and above. Residential Aged Care workers may also attend.
About the Vaccination Hubs
The hubs are staffed with an Immunisation Nurse, First Aid Nurse, and clerical staff to enter vaccination details into the government register.
These teams are familiar with administering the vaccine to people who may require additional support, and their approach has worked well for many people who are not comfortable with aspects of the vaccination process. People are monitored by a First Aid nurse for at least 15 minutes after vaccination.
Vaccinations are provided in former Learning & Lifestyle hubs offering a quieter environment, mobility access, plenty of space to manoeuvre, and a welcoming environment.
