NDIS Early Childhood Early Intervention
Early childhood intervention is the name given to specialised supports and services given to young children with a developmental delay or disability and their families, to help them build their skills and participate in everyday activities.
The NDIS early childhood early intervention approach focusses on how families who have a child with developmental delay or disability can be connected with the right supports at the right time.
Early Childhood Early Intervention (ECEI) partners are appointed by the NDIA to assist families understand the potential role of the NDIS and to guide them to other appropriate supports and to offer independent advice on providers of support most suited to their needs.
NDIS early childhood partners help families understand and connect with supports in their local community, and may offer children and families a period of short term early intervention supports, or assist with access to the NDIS.
