Interpreter Training Boost Program
The program will be rolled out over the course of 3 years, with the aim to support up to 120 Queensland-based participants through NAATI endorsed interpreter training for priority languages requiring more interpreters. At completion of the course, participants may sit the NAATI test or apply for recognition (in languages that are not tested) to become certified interpreters.
The course will provide participants with more career opportunities within the interpreting industry, while improving communication outcomes for multicultural communities.
Funded jointly by the Department of Employment, Small Business and Training and the Department of Children, Youth Justice and Multicultural Affairs, the course cost is covered by the Queensland Government, except for a student contribution of $100 paid at enrolment.
Applications are open now, closing on Monday, 21 March 2022. Some eligibility conditions apply.
