Human Rights Month 2020

Human Rights Month is an annual campaign run by the Queensland Human Rights Commission (QHRC) to highlight the importance of protecting and promoting human rights. It runs from 10 November each year, culminating on International Human Rights Day on 10 December.

Human Rights Month 2020 is Queensland’s first Human Rights Month with legislated human rights protections, after the Human Rights Act 2019 came into full effect on 1 January 2020.

This year, the QHRC’s Human Rights Month work will focus on helping the community understand their rights under the Act. The Commission has provided resources, posters, and a supporter kit to help explain what the Act means for Queenslanders. There are also some upcoming webinars and training sessions during the next four weeks.
