From 5:00am Thursday, 23 December 2021 masks became mandatory in cinemas and theatres as well as for hospitality workers.

This is in addition to the previously announced changes (as of 1:00am Saturday, 18 December 2021) that made masks mandatory in the following locations:

  • shops and retail centres
  • hospitals and aged care
  • public transport
  • ride share
  • airports and planes.

Those who struggle to social distance throughout their day are advised to consider wearing face masks irrespective of any mandates. For the latest information on mask requirements visit the Queensland Health website.
