COVID-19 disability and aged care directions – latest updates
Queensland Health is continuing to respond to the declared public health emergency in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19). Effective from 4 October the Aged Care Direction has been updated to:
- clarify that people who have been in the New South Wales border zone may visit loved ones in residential aged care facilities
- clarify that health workers who wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow recommended infection control precautions are not considered ‘known contacts’ of confirmed COVID-19 cases for the purposes of entry to a residential aged care facility.
The Disability Accommodation Services Direction has also been updated to clarify that people who have been in the New South Wales border zone may enter disability accommodation services to visit loved ones or to attend work.
