COVID-19 disability and aged care directions – latest updates

Queensland Health is continuing to respond to the declared public health emergency in relation to coronavirus (COVID-19). Effective from 4 October the Aged Care Direction has been updated to:

  • clarify that people who have been in the New South Wales border zone may visit loved ones in residential aged care facilities
  • clarify that health workers who wear appropriate personal protective equipment and follow recommended infection control precautions are not considered ‘known contacts’ of confirmed COVID-19 cases for the purposes of entry to a residential aged care facility.
