Consultation: Disability standards for Accessible transport
The Commonwealth Department of Infrastructure, Transport, Regional Development and Communications has publicly released the Reform of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport: Consultation Regulation Impact Statement (CRIS) for consultation.
The Consultation RIS includes regulatory and non-regulatory reform options for 16 areas of the Disability Standards for Accessible Public Transport 2002 (Transport Standards). The Department is seeking public feedback on whether the proposals will improve public transport accessibility for people with disability, and whether they will enhance the public transport experience for all Australians.
There are a number of ways for people to provide feedback including formal written submissions, a dedicated phone line and multiple online surveys. To access the CRIS and other supporting documentation, and for more information on how to provide feedback, visit the website.
The public consultation period closes on 23 April 2021.
