QCOSS has consistently advocated for both levels of government to fund the full cost of service delivery including the cost of rising wage expenses and has developed different tools to enable our members to join in this advocacy.

Currently through our 'Fairer Queensland - Where No-one Gets Left Behind' campaign, QCOSS has outlined what it believes are five steps to creating a significantly fairer society. One of these five steps is 'Investing in a Fairer Queensland to create a strong community services sector'. To achieve this we recommend that investment in existing community services is increased and government funding arrangements are transformed to focus on long-term outcomes that meet community needs.

ACOSS together with the state COSS network, has also developed resources that can assist you – including template letters, talking points, a paper on gender undervaluation in our sector, fact sheets and a lobbying resource kit. To access these resources visit the ACOSS Website's Campaign Materials Page.

Another resource that you can use to support your lobbying is the 2010 Sector Profile, which outlines the sector’s economic contribution and the size of our workforce. Download a copy of the 2010 Sector Profile.
