Organisations are continuing to campaign to the Queensland Government to develop a Queensland human rights act.

High-profile organisations such as the Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS), Micah Projects, the Mamre Association, and many more, are calling for a human rights act.

At the 2016 Labor state conference, Premier Annastacia Palaszczuk revealed cabinet had agreed to introduce a human rights act for Queensland, based on the Victorian charter.

The Palaszczuk government recently confirmed it will keep its committment to introduce the legislation.

The Human Rights for Queensland campaign group is encouraging people to get involved by signing up to their newsletter for updates and to spread the word on social media.
