The Council of Australian Governments (COAG) Health Council is developing a national obesity strategy for Australia.
Overweight and obesity is an issue affecting communities. Take action and join in the consultations on a national obesity strategy.
All interested members of the community are invited to help inform the strategy.
More than 14 million people in Australia are overweight or obese: two in every three adults and one in every four children.
If the current trend continues, 18 million Australians, or more than three-quarters of the projected Australian population will be overweight or obese by 2030.
Government leadership and a whole-of-society response through a national obesity strategy will help in preventing overweight and obesity in communities.
