Community, health and education workers are invited to attend a free legal information webinar about how Legal Aid Queensland can help your clients with legal protection from violent relationships.

The webinar will be delivered by Jason Garrick, family lawyer from our Violence Prevention and Women’s Advocacy team, and will cover:

  • a brief overview of domestic and family violence, including any changes to the law
  • practical tips for workers to support clients living with domestic and family violence, including domestic violence protection orders and parenting orders
  • what happens when children are involved
  • getting help from Legal Aid Queensland and referral pathways.

Legal Aid Queensland encourages you to submit general questions for the presenter ahead of the webinar in the registration form. Please hold questions about the integration of 17-year-olds into the youth criminal system for our 2018 youth justice webinar.

The webinar will be recorded, captioned and published on our Legal information webinars for community workers playlist on YouTube. The handout will be emailed after the webinar date to everyone who registers.

Please phone 07 3917 0406 or email [email protected] for more information.
