Epilepsy Queensland has developed a resource for service providers and local area coordinators who are supporting people with epilepsy to assist in preparing people with disability, their carers and families for the NDIS.
It believes that all people with epilepsy should, at a minimum, have the development of Epilepsy Management Plans, Emergency Management Plans (Midazolam) – as required, as well as training for all people providing support to the person.
The resource provides information and prompts to ensure that the person’s epilepsy related needs are identified and incorporated into their NDIS plan.
Epilepsy Queensland Inc. is a Registered Provider with the NDIS, and welcomes all enquiries about how they can support you, or people you provide support to, in relation to epilepsy and the NDIS.
Community Meet Ups
Epilepsy Queensland is hosting a number of community meet ups over coming months. The purpose of these is to meet with people with epilepsy, families or carers, as well as other community members who would like to find out more about:
- Epilepsy and the NDIS;
- The diverse range of supports and services; and
- Future meet ups in their local community.
