Community-based organisations, particularly small ones, play a vital role in meeting community needs across Queensland. In times of disaster, they perform important roles at the frontline, responding to people in crisis. Often, they are also responding to broader community needs, before during and after disasters. Community organisations have a critical role to play in building resilience, responding to the crisis and supporting recovery.
To strengthen this role it is critical that organisations are able to plan to keep their business running during disasters.
This workshop will focus on building the skills of the community organisation, boards and staff to undertake business continuity planning. The workshop will:
- Provide and overview of business continuity planning;
- Take participants through a set of practical tools and resources that can be used in planning; and
- Use real scenarios to practice putting a business continuity plan together.
