More than 35 Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander organisations have joined to form the Coalition of Peaks - a body aiming to bring a collective voice of influence to issues that affect Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people across Australia.

In a historic agreement, the Coalition of Peaks have formed a Joint Partnership with the Council of Australian Governments (COAG) to collaborate on the Closing the Gap Refresh process, currently being undertaken by the Federal Government.

The deal was signed by the Prime Minister and the group is starting work to affect meaningful change with the Joint Council meeting for the first time on 29 March 2019.
