Shopping around for a better energy deal

Shopping around for a better electricity deal can be worthwhile for consumers in South East Queensland but it is important to be well informed. The Queensland Consumers Association and the Queensland Council of Social Service have put together the following tips to assist SEQ consumers to shop around.

QCOSS held a webinar on 23 August 2016 on comparing offers in South East Queensland. In the webinar we shared some tips and tricks on reading your bill and finding the right offer that suits you or your clients. We also provided an update on the changes with the deregulation of standing offer prices in South East Queensland and what it means for you.

You can watch a recording of the webinar or download a copy of the presentation.

You can also view a demonstration of how to use the Energy Made Easy website to compare offers.

In December 2015 we held a webinar on comparing energy offers in South East Queensland where there is a choice of energy companies and contracts. The webinar included information about the different contract types in the competitive market, what to look for when comparing offers and tips for getting the best deal. During the webinar we also discussed how to compare offers using the Energy Made Easy website. For more tips on choosing or changing electricity retailers watch this video on StudioQ.
