The Young, Black & Deadly Scholarship (YBDS) program celebrates the talents and strengths of young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people.
Young Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people 25 or younger who are looking for some support with their school, uni, arts or sporting dreams are encouraged to apply.
To be eligible for the scholarship they need to be:
- of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent
- 25 years old or younger
- living in Queensland.
This round is the first statewide round thanks to the support of the Queensland Family & Child Commission. There are 10 x $2000 and 10 X $1000 scholarships to give away.
There are three categories that young people can apply for: education and training (primary, secondary and tertiary), the arts and sports.
