The Salvation Army has launched its Switched on Communities education program to help people under financial pressure find savings on their electricity bills, including an electricity saving advice hotline on 1300 221 993.
The telephone line is open to any electricity consumer who is looking for free and independent advice on how to save money on their electricity bills.
This includes advice on how to switch electricity retailers, how to compare electricity plans, financial hardship options and rebates, and how to understand electricity bills to find savings.
In addition to the telephone line the Salvation Army are rolling out information sessions to their case workers and for community members across south east Queensland.
The Switched on Communities Grant program is part of the Queensland Government’s Energy Save campaign, to help south east Queenslanders save money by shopping around for the best electricity deal.
