The Office for Youth has announced that the inaugural Queensland Youth Week will be held from 6 to 15 April 2018.
The week aims to celebrate the achievements, vitality and strength of young Queenslanders aged 12 to 25 years old. It will acknowledge the positive social, cultural and economic contributions young people make to our lives in Queensland.
This year's theme - Jump in. Make a splash - invites young people to get involved and make an impact, whether it's planning their own bright future, contributing their ideas on wider social issues, standing up for their tights or making their mark in the workplace.
A key focus for the Queensland Government during the week will be encouraging young Queenslanders to speak out and take action against cyberbullying.
Why not host your own event during Queensland Youth Week? Encourage young people in your local area to Jump in. Make a splash.
You could run a tech event; school holiday activity; sporting event; family fun day; information session or workshop.
The Youth Enagagement ehub is a safe online space that will come alive with activities in the lead up to Youth Week.
Free resources are available online and will be send to you once you have registered your event.
