The Quality Collaboration Network in conjunction with Peakcare and the Queensland Council of Social Service (QCOSS) invites you to a workshop on consent, right to information and privacy.

Who should attend?

Workers with quality assurance, audit, certification, accreditation responsibilities for managing privacy functions, responding to requests for personal information or steering organisational practice, regarding personal information management in community-based child protection and disability services.

Event program

The program includes presentations (and the opportunity to ask questions) about common tensions and dilemmas in: 

  • Gathering informed consent taking account of capacity to consent and timing issues
  • Embedding best practice principles when responding to personal information requests
  • Privacy and social media, mandatory reporting of data breaches under Commonwealth legislation

The final session is a panel discussion involving presenters, an industry representative and a service user to respond to audience questions and delve further into the nuts and bolts of decision-making in these areas.
