Community groups who want to make the 2017 Queensland Women’s Week celebrations a big success are invited to apply for a share of $150,000 to host events, projects and activities that promote women.

Community organisations across the state can apply for grants of up to $3,000 to hold celebrations during the week to stage a series of events and activities across Queensland that offer opportunities for women of all ages, and linguistic and cultural backgrounds, to join together in celebration and acknowledge the achievements of women and girls.

The theme for the week, which runs from 6-12 March, is Queensland Women: Be involved. Lead the way. This theme encourages women and girls to participate, and pursue leadership roles, in their community and workplace.

YWCA Queensland is administering the Queensland Women's Week grant program in 2017, on behalf of the government.

Applications for the grants close at 5:00pm on Friday 6 January 2017.
