Did you know community based organisations can apply for funding to employ a trainee within your organisation?
Funding is still available under the First Start program in 2017-18 for not-for-profit organisations to offer opportunities to young people and disadvantaged job seekers to gain nationally recognised qualifications and 12 months employment in a traineeship with the community-based organisation.
Not only does this assist disadvantaged Queenslanders into employment, but assists community organisations to continue their invaluable work within the community.
First Start, delivered under the Skilling Queenslanders for Work initiative, provides a significant wage subsidy of $20,000 per trainee to employ local job seekers.
Please note, that applications for First Start 2017-18 funding can be submitted at any time, but as trainees must commence prior to 30 June 2018, it is recommended that applications be submitted well in advance of this date.
Find out more about the First Start guidelines on the Skilling Queenslanders for Work website.
