Queensland Government’s vision is to build an age-friendly state in which all Queenslanders, regardless of their age, can stay active and connected, and contribute economically, socially and culturally.
Over three years, $1 million per annum will be available through open funding rounds to seed fund community projects involving partnerships with local government and other organisations to co-develop, implement and promote innovative age-friendly projects.
The 2017-18 grant round focuses on innovative approaches, responses and solutions to local issues that meet the criteria set out by the World Health Organisation’s 8 age-friendly domains, with a specific focus on outdoor spaces and buildings, housing, and transport. Funding for the other domains will be available in the next financial year.
Applications for outdoor spaces and buildings, housing, or transport community projects have been extended and will now close at 5pm on Friday 16 June.
